“Outsourcing Your Sanity”
Outsourcing is often a tidal wave that rolls over Security. With the right approaches, you can make the power of that wave work for you.
Outsourcing Infrastructure Management is an act of faith. Outsourcing Information Security is an act of sheer terror. Your service providers do not take on your risks when you outsource, they only take on your tasks. The reputation at stake is yours, the business at stake is yours, and the jobs at stake are yours. But outsourcing really can reduce your company’s infrastructure costs. Because outsourcers manage many large infrastructures, they will be familiar with everything in yours. Plus, they see threats on a much wider scale than you do in-house. So how to balance the benefits of outsourcing with the risks? How do you retain control of your security while farming out the very tasks which provide – or undermine – security? This talk will address the issues you must face, the controls you must retain and the requirements you must set in order to remain secure. Is your company considering an outsource to multiple providers? We’ll talk about those complexities as well.
